Year 5's trip to Pizza Hut

Year 5 went to Pizza Hut today to help us in our topic Biscuit Business. At Pizza Hut we learned  how to prepare food and even make our own pizzas. We also learned some interesting facts about how they make, cook and deliver their pizzas.

A majority of 5TA said their favourite part was making the pizzas, everyone wanted to go back.We had the pizzas delivered to school and we ate them for lunch. Two pupils from 5TA said the most impressive piece of equipment was the large oven which can fit six normal ovens inside it!

This will help with our own businesses because we will be working in the kitchen making biscuits to the best quality possible.

I very much enjoyed joining 5TA on their trip to Pizza Hut. The behaviour on the coach and in Pizza Hut was excellent.

5TA came up with some challenging questions for the takeaway staff and had some well thought out answers to the questions they put to you.

Now that you've had a chance to see a real food production system in action with its hygiene and nutritional requirements, and followed the process, from ingredients, through preparation, cooking and final dispatch, you will be well placed to get your Biscuit Businesses up and running.

I hope you all enjoyed your pizzas at lunch time. I certainly enjoyed the ones I sampled!

Thank you for inviting me.
