Year 2 had a fantastic day on Friday at Royal Victoria Country Park.
During the day we learnt to:
Describe conditions at the barrack hospital in Scutari before Florence Nightingale.
Name different jobs carried out by the staff at the hospital.
Suggest how people’s feelings about the hospital changed as a result.
Know that the Royal Victoria Hospital was built to treat sick and wounded soldiers.
Understand some of Florence Nightingale’s reasons for criticising the hospital design.
Know some of the ways Florence Nightingale changed how soldiers were cared for.

We had lots of fun strutting our stuff and striking a pose on the Book Character runway today! It was so lovely to see the children all dressed up as their favourite characters and so full of joy for reading! We had a lovely afternoon in the library choosing new books, listening to stories and even making up our own stories as a class! Thank-you to all of the adults at home who put so much effort into the costumes today!
