The theme for this half term's personal best day was 'ball skills'. The children practised different ball skills and applied to it a range of sports.
The skills were: dribbling, bouncing, passing and kicking. They linked these skills with basketball, rugby, football, tennis and hockey. Each child was given a score out of 3 for their effort and skills and they all enjoyed the competition within their class and group!
The children enjoyed their session lots, and thank you to TMC for organising the day.

It was another great Personal Best Day for all Key Stage 1 and Early Years children. The TMC coaches organised a fun day which focused on fitness and core activities. The children were pushed to their limits by having a go at skipping, squats, sit-ups, step-ups on a bench and even burpees! Despite it being tough at times, the children enjoyed having a go at all the exercises and were able to learn some new skills.

What a fantastic day! The year 5 and 6 sports leaders did a fantastic job of planning and organising the day for all key stage 1 children to enjoy. The theme focused on the Olympics, so the children practised their athletics skills and were challenged by the sports leaders.
Well done to everyone who took part in personal best day. We're already looking forward to the next one...

Today we were joined by Mr Crook for a ice cold, foot numbing, body bouncing march across one of amazing boglands in the New Forest. Those of us who were brave enough to walk across the boglands with no boots (and that did not include Mr Crook!) yelped our way to the middle where we shown how incredibly deep the marsh was. We rounded off a terrific day with homemade sausages, a lantern parade and stargazing. We were also visited by Miss K who brought some Oakwood cheer to our hot chocolate session.

On Wednesday, Year 6 returned to Oakwood in the evening for one last, celebratory Goodbye...
Here they are arriving...
And here they are inside - the bit their parents don't get to see...!
Getting a breather outside in their groups...
And letting go... of their balloons, and of Oakwood (*sobs*)...

Oakhouse children decided to take the opportunity today to catch up with their teddy bear sewing. At break-time they were treated to a refreshing ice lolly and in the afternoon spent time on the field with their favourite sports coaches TMC.
