2015 Comic Relief

A massive thank you to all who brought in their £1 donations today for Comic Relief! We raised the fantastic amount of £434 which may still rise!

We painted our faces funny for money, came to school with our clothes inside out and performed our flash mob routine to 'Uptown Funk' and 'Happy!'

A huge thank you to you all!

One Way or Another...!

It looked like time to laze around on the sofa or have a little snooze at Oakwood today, as everyone came to school in their onesies or their pyjamas!

It was all in a good cause as we raised £350 for Comic Relief!

(We have a tradition of making great Red Nose Day videos!)

Thanks you to our Pupil Voice Charity Committee, who organised the whole day, and to Alex Pope, who led us in some drumming and dancing!

Lovely St. Lucia!

Year 6 had a fantastic St Lucia morning!

In Miss Denton's class we learned about Caribbean music - steel drums, soco and calypso music. We learned 'The Four White Horses' and made our own Caribbean music using drums!

We made Caribbean collages with Miss Beavill, "It was great making the waterfall," commented Alex.

We learned about family life in St Lucia with Mrs Collins. We started to make our St. Lucia factfile. "I learnt that in St. Lucia the average wage was a pound a day! I was shocked," said Elliot.

We all had a great day and learned lots!

Do Something Funny for the Money!

Oakwood had an amazing day raising money for Comic Relief!

Funny red noses...line-dancing...wearing pyjamas to school...just a few of the hilarious activities completed to raise money for such a good cause!

Well done to everybody who wore fantastic 'funny clothes'. Many of the costumes were simply outstanding and some special mentions need to be made - Liam in year 3 made everybody smile by wearing girl's clothes, Jai in year 4 was hilarious as Andy from Little Britain, Ben in year 5 made a great 118 118 man and could be heard saying "got your number!" all day long, finally Zoe in year 6 looked egg-cellent as a chicken!

In the afternoon, we had a celebratory assembly and line-danced as a whole school in the playground. It was an impressive sight as you can see below! We continued the celebration in the hall by watching some of the group dances designed to raise money for Comic Relief and shared some of the work that had gone on in class. Year 6 made some ingenious silly sketches of themselves pulling funny faces for Comic Relief!

In total, we raised a massive £301 for Comic Reflief! Well done Oakwood!
