YR Visit to Lepe Country Park

The children in Year R have had a fabulous day, travelling on a coach to Lepe County Park. While they were there they had a minibeast hunt in the woodland, looked at what they found under microscopes, swept nets through the long grass to find other creatures. They also had a seashore scavenger hunt and safari which included creating some beach art. After lunch the children had the opportunity to explore the sensory garden and had a play on the park. Lots of fun was had!

Year 2 Fire Service Visit

Today, Year 2 were lucky enough to have a visit from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. We learned about what you do if you ever have to phone 999 and how to test a smoke alarm. We also learned about what Firefighters wear to keep them safe.  Have a look at how we got on!

Year 1 DT- Designing and Creating Royal Puppets

Our process: 1. First we learned about ways to attach fabric together, such as stapling or safety pinning. We assessed the advantages and disadvantages to each and decided to use staples for our puppets. 2. We designed the puppets by labelling the parts and embellishments that will make them look like Kings or Queens. 3. Next we assembled our puppets. We used ‘templates’ to cut out our material and attached them together using staples, making sure they are ‘alligned’. 4. We then embellished our puppets by carefully selecting materials and sing our design as a guide. 5. Finally we evaluated our puppets against the design criteria and thought about how we could possibly improve them next time.
