Day 3 and it was raining just a little, so the best place to be is underground!
Just like for miners, big overalls and helmets are important safety features, and so are torches. We counted them all in...
Miss Beavill waited patiently with the sheep...
And we counted everyone back out again!
Everyone came out smiling...
Only five minutes drive away from Knapp House is Westward Ho! beach where we went to do surfing! Here's our short journey... (Zoom right in for a really close up look at the beach!)
Westward Ho! is the only town in the UK which has an exclamation mark in its name. (Leave us a comment if you know why!)
To warm up before going in the water, everyone played team games and learned how to use the body board safely...
And then it was into the water to put it all into practice! (Spot Miss Beavill enjoying a bit of sunbathing at the end!)
It was all going so well...
If we were all a bit tired after our coach journey to Knapp House, we got woken up again really well in the afternoon!
First we had an energetic walk through the fields and lanes to the village of Appledore...
Where we dangled big bits of raw meat over the edge of the quayside...
(No! Miss Hutchinson didn't fall in...!)
And we caught over fifty crabs!
This was one of the biggest...
If we weren't awake enough by then, we all clambered aboard "Knapp" and sped out into the Bristol Channel, towards Lundy...
(No! That's not Miss Beavill driving!)
And we managed to make it back for tea!
We are really pleased and proud to support our new School Patrol Officer Kay!

Pupil council gathered all the rubbish from the bins to see what we should be recycling.
We found out that we are using lots of paper towels to dry our hands. Pupil council have made posters to remind us to use 1 paper towel each time we wash our hands! We are also collecting our fruit for composting.
Year 4 have been working hard on some new home learning projects.
Just like Year 3, we were all getting a bit fed up of boring old homework sheets, so we thought we would try something a bit more exciting...
And WOW!! What a creative year group we are!
Our task was to create a mathematical or logical thinking puzzle to go in our brand new puzzle corners. We could have made a jig-saw, puzzle book, board game... the list was endless!

Here is a potato plant that has grown...
Here we are growing carrots, radishes, lettuces and peas.
We have also grown some beautiful flowers. We are trying to keep the slugs away by doing a slug hunt each day. We help to weed and water the flowers daily.

Our Football team are the Champions of Southampton!
We beat Foxhills Junior School on Wednesday 3-1 at Townhill Junior School (we had already won against Townhill Junior last week in the Semi-Final).
After an early goal against us, we fought back strongly and just before half-time Charlie scored, celebrating by sliding across the pitch (that's Charlie for you!). In the middle of the second half George dramatically hit the ball into the back of the net, it was exquisite!
Then, five minutes before the end Matt headed away the free kick, it went to Charlie and Joel crossed it to George (who placed it into the bottom corner of the net with his usual precision).
The remainder of the second half seemed to go on forever, but Oakwood stayed strong at the back and we held them out for the remainder of the second half.
The final whistle came, we cheered in celebration, all 10 players played to get us into this final and we are proud of all of them. Everybody helped to win this including Abbie, Ryan and Sam who came on at the end to help us keep them goals out. Mitchell also made some spectacular saves, his flexible ability prevented them from scoring. Alex and Ben made some crucial tackles which helped us continue with our victory.
