Y4 Roaming Romans Hook Day

The Year 4 classrooms were full of Rotten Romans today as 4TA and 4TW began their journey into the world of the Roman Europe.

They had a Roman breakfast of porridge before holding senate in the school hall, where they discussed all things important in the world - but still made time for a quick photo shoot! They started their Roman topic work by investigating the Roman calendar and Roman numerals... do you know what year MMXIII is? Year four do!

In the afternoon the children had a go at some Roman technology, creating their own aqueducts on the playground, whilst also plotting the expansion of the Roman empire as they roamed all over Europe, Asia and northern Africa. To finish the day they feasted on foods first brought to the UK by the Romans.

Every single year four child in school today came in costume and all children looked absolutely fantastic. So well done from Mr Ackland and Mr Wills!! Finally a big thank you to all mums and dads for assisting the toga making!
