Remembrance Art in Year 2

We have been learning that art is in the eye of the beholder. Drawing should be fun, there is no right or wrong and everyone will do it differently. We chose to all follow the same steps to draw poppies for Remembrance Day. We compared eachothers and all agreed that they all look beautiful. What do you think?

A Busy Time for Year 3.

It's been a busy few days in Year 3.

We have been working hard making WW2 oat cakes and other goodies ready for our VE celebration that we held this afternoon. We have also been writing Remembrance poems which some of us read this morning at Hollybrook cemetery, as we gathered to remember all the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives in War.

A big thank you to all the parents who walked up to the cemetery with us and for all the generous donations for the celebration. There was not only enough for all the parents and children twice over, but the many cakes and biscuits that were left over were gratefully taken by Mrs Mattack to donate to a local homeless shelter.
