In order to have a little more practice working with wire and consider the placement of joints, Year 3 had a little Ninja fun today. They used pipe cleaners, straws and beads to create their own Ninja figures. Take a look:-
Following a successful qualifying campaign, the Oakwood Indoor Athletics team took part in the Indoor Athletics Finals after school on Monday.
The separate Girls and Boys teams competed in both 'track' and 'field' events with points being awarded in each discipline.
The team did really well, winning a number of events in both the track and field, and with their scores combined Tam Oakwood managed 3rd place! Well done everyone.

Year R have been busy designing and making superhero vehicles from junk materials.
The children in Beech Class really enjoyed sharing their learning with their parents today. Everyone looked like they had lots of fun.
On Friday we had a fantastic day creating our very own coin Pudsey. Thanks to all of your fantastic donations, we managed to collect an amazing £361.68 . Well done Oakwood!
Our Victorian Fayre on Friday!! What a fantastic and amazing success. Year 6 raised over £700 - a record breaking figure! We are so proud of them all for all the hard work. But importantly - a massive thank you to everyone who supported the event.
Wow! We are so lucky at Oakwood to have such amazing athletes! Have a look at some of them in action at the City Indoor Athletics.

This week, the two classes responsible for improving school travel investigated the speed of cars around our school (4NM and Willow). We measured them on Sandpiper Road and Woburn Road to check whether they kept to the speed limit.
4NM found that while most cars kept to the speed limit on Sandpiper Road, Woburn Road was much more dangerous to cross because some cars travelled above 30 mph. It is very important to keep looking both ways when crossing the road.

To link with our 'Welcome to Planet Earth' topic Year 4 spent their PE lesson this week learning part of the choreography from the Broadway production to the Lion King. While some children were taking part in interhouse, the rest of us spent a bit of time perfecting our performance!
