Year 2 Easter
WOW!
It is week 2 of home learning and once again we have been bowled over with all the hard work and commitment to your learning. We are so impressed with your dedication and excited to see all the fabulous activities you have been undertaking. It is especially lovely to see all the enjoyment and fun you are having.
Can we just say a BIG thank you for taking the time to send in all the photos and videos-it really does put a smile on our faces and inspires us all to keep being our Oakwood best. I am sure there are going to be lots of house points waiting to be stamped on cards when we all get back together.
Please all have a happy and safe Easter. We look forward to seeing all of your Easter Home Learning projects.
Take a look at all the fabulous work you have been up to this week.
Y2 have been very creative working with willow. Everyone made a petal which was then put together to create a larger class flower.
Great team work showing how everyone can contribute to the bigger picture making it something beautiful.

The aliens have landed at Oakwood!
They came to find out all about humans and learned a very important Christmas story along the way.
Well done Years 1 and 2 for a fantastic performance!

Y2 were lucky enough to have visitors from Southampton Sight who taught the children about people living with blindness and vision impairments.
It was very interactive giving the children an insight into what living with a vision impairment would be like.
The activities included: walking around using a cane, identifying objects in a feely bag, experiencing a braille book and reading books with glasses which mimic different vision impairments.
Thank you to Southampton Sight for coming to Oakwood for a really enjoyable workshop.
As part of their history work the children in Year 2 have been learning about the Great Fire of London.
To see and understand just how quickly the fire spread we created our own burning houses.

Year 2 had a very busy Monday morning this week! They took part in a Year 2 spelling morning to encourage them to revise spellings they already know and to learn new ones. They played fun games in teams and enjoyed independent activities, learning new spelling rules from their white spelling logs. The children can now use these games and activities to practice their spellings at home, ready to get more signed off! Well done Year 2.
