Tag Rugby Champions!

Over the last couple of years Oakwood have been very successful at the School Games Tag Rugby competition, reaching the final in each year. This year the team managed to go a step further and after a tense final against Fairisle Junior School, were crowned City champions.

Oakwood took a little while to get warmed up during the first game, with the score level at 3 tries each at half time. However it was all one way traffic from there as Oakwood cruised to a 9-4 victory. The rest of the groups games turned out to be just as high scoring, Oakwood twice touching down ten tries against opponents.

Oakwood faced last years winners Bassett Green in the Semi-final and after a brilliant second half defensive performance managed to come out on top.

The final saw Oakwood take on local (friendly) rivals Fairisle Junior School. It was a game of excellent Tag Rugby, but it was Oakwood who triumphed - winning 7-5.

Player of the tournament and Oakwood's top scorer was, the rocket propelled, Robbie.
